Oh no! Lol! Palomas are great, but if you don't like grapefruit, it's definitely tricky.
For the highball, 1 inch ice cubes are great. If not available, then a large solid piece of ice is the better option. Anything else will melt too fast and dilute the drink too much.
I'm so against grapefruit that I've never had a Paloma. I only hear compliments but ewww grapefruit. Lol
