Vol. 8, No. 8 | The Phoenix Edition
Hey Ya’ll!
This really has very little to do with Phoenix, but really about my time in the airport going to Phoenix. I was in the city for about 48 hours last month for Arizona Cocktail Week (AZCW). It was my first time to Phoneix, but I didn’t really see much outside of my hotel and the AZCW venues. The airport edition sounded weird though….or maybe not.
Anyway, here are my thoughts:
Digital ID is amazing. I don’t know how I got it but I made it through TSA Precheck in 3 minutes which is a feat at Hartsfield Jackson Airport. I’m pretty sure we have the longest precheck lines in the country.
As I was in the Digital ID line, someone asked what the very short line was and the agent yelled back “This is what happens when you fly Delta. Delta paid for this.” It gave me a chuckle. I’d argue that I paid for it with the cost of flights skyrocketing ($550 to Miami from Atlanta…how?!), but whatever.
I ran into someone that I knew at the airport. After chatting, I said “Have a good trap.” Mistakenly using trap instead of trip lands a little weird.
In general, I really loved the vibe of Phoenix and it deserves a proper visit. Of the places I was able to drop into, I loved Palma and I also loved my hotel.
On my way back to the airport from Phoneix, when my Uber driver picked me up, he asked if he could use the bathroom. It was a hotel and not my home, but it still didn’t feel right. Is it me?
I’m feeling more inspired than I have in years and I think it started in Phoenix. I was talking to the Bombay Sapphire ambassador and he mentioned that he’s never been to Atlanta and he wants a reason to come. It made me realize how many people in the industry haven’t been to Atlanta. I have a lot more thoughts about this, but I’ve decided to create this reason.
I’ve also been itching to create some experiences under Holy Sip. Let me know if this sounds interesting.
Hope you’re all well!
