Vol. 6, No. 17 | Focus On Yourself
Hey Everyone!
If this week had a theme it would have been, “Ma’am, focus on yourself.” This is my way of explaining why this newsletter is late.
I realized that the most important thing that I could do today was sit in the sauna for an hour and get a new laptop. I had a lot of pent-up frustration, but after shifting my perspective I realized that it was simply because I wasn’t taking care of myself. Once I refocused on what was important to me and my purpose, all of the frustration melted away. It was like magic.
Here are the other things I thought about this week:
I’m seriously obsessed with Line of Duty. Last week after I mentioned the lack of food, the very next episode the leads shared a lamb curry.
Family meal…have you heard of this? It’s the staff meal that happens in restaurants and it’s one of the things that I really look forward to. I love seeing what the quiet line cook in the corner whips up on the fly with some ingredients that need to be used up by the kitchen. It’s kinda like being on a cooking show. At least in my head.
A few weeks ago I made two reservations for dinner because I wasn’t sure where the other person would prefer. I called and canceled the wrong one and felt so bad that the restaurant that I wasn’t showing up to didn’t get any advance notice. I didn’t realize that canceling in advance wasn’t even something that a lot of people think to do.
Also a few weeks ago, I went to dinner (a different dinner) and settled on wine made with a grape that I’d never heard of before. The only problem is that I couldn’t get my brain to wrap my brain around the letters to summon up the Italian pronunciation. Embarrassed by this for some reason, I didn’t order it. Don’t be me.
Hope you’re all well!
