No Plans for Friday? Carmen Rice Exhibit Opening on Friday
Hey Everyone,
Ok...so this is more of a traditional newsletter. Mainly because I've taken some time to start taking care of myself. I turned 34 last month...I know half of you are saying, "Wow ,she's really old" and the are half are saying "Wow, she's so young", which is exactly what makes 34 an odd age...Anyway, my gift to myself this year is to allow myself more time for me. As a result, I haven't spent as much time working and instead I've started to focus on exercising daily (I'm 24 days in!) and eating well by cooking at home.
Being around food and alcohol all day for three years has made me pick up some habits that I don't love. (Eating jerk chicken tacos every day, while delicious, is clearly not good for my health.) In the past, I've done all the extreme stuff to get back on track- juice cleanses, restricting foods, detoxing, etc. Fail. Fail. Fail. So this time I'm trying to just change my lifestyle and do something that might take longer...journey over destination and all that jazz. I'm focused on getting stronger, faster and calmer.
Anyway...that was all much longer than I intended.
Carmen Rice's solo exhibit opens on Friday at 7pm. It has absolutely nothing to do with food, but there will be complimentary wine for the first hour. Carmen is a Pisces, which clearly means she's awesome. Our birthdays are actually only 4 days apart. When I visited her studio we had a whole conversation about how we're both empaths and the importance of taking time to center ourselves. I see the push for that every time I look at her work. It's soothing, while conjuring up the right amount of angst.
Read the description of the show on the flyer below and then RSVP for the show here. See you Friday!
